Hello Visitor,

Hello quilter, hope you've been staying cool during this hot time and hopefully we’re starting to cool down some.  Since we’re getting closer to the September 2021 quilt show, we wanted to re-send all the important information you may need. 

2021 Quilt Show Dates and Hours 

Friday and Saturday, September 17 - 18 
10 a.m.-5:00 p.m. 
 
Sunday, September 19, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 

2021 Quilt Registration Open Until Midnight September 1st 

  
Registration may be placed electronically or via mail. 
 
ALL REGISTRATIONS MUST BE ENTERED NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT, 
SEPTEMBER 1, 2021 
  

2021 Quilt Delivery Dates 

10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
Saturday and Sunday; September 11th and 12th 
Deliver your quilt/s to the Floral Building, Walla Walla Fairgrounds 
  

2021 Quilt Pick up 

  Community Building, Walla Walla County Fairgrounds 
 
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
September 20, 2021 

  

*** “Portal” Quilt Challenge  *** 

Create your interpretation in a piece of any shape with the combined total
of all sides no less than 72 inches and no more that 160 inches. 
 
The Challenge quilts will be judged on: 

Appropriateness to theme 

Workmanship 

Creativity 

Design 

Use of color  

 
The decision of the judge will be final.   

Cash prizes will be awarded: 
 
1st place - $250             2nd place - $150            3rd place - #75.00 
 
All attendees on Friday and Saturday will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite challenge quilt for the “People’s Choice” award.  The People’s Choice winner will be announced on Sunday. 
 

Block Lotto 

Using the Block Challenge fabric, create a quilt block measuring 12½" x 12½" (It will finish to 12" x 12.") 

The winning block will be determined by the votes of the people. 

The winner gets ALL the blocks!!!

2021 Nationally Featured Quilt Is 

Jill Finley 


Jill Finley is the owner and designer behind Jillily Studio. She has been designing quilt patterns for over 15 years and currently designs and sells quilt fabric, patterns, kits and notions. Her quilt designs show off her fresh style using high contrast fabrics and usually have a bit of appliqué to soften and finish each design. Jillily Studio produces the popular notions: Appli-Glue, Poke-A-Dots, Maker Paper, Starch Brushes and Quilter's Digits along with numerous kits and patterns. Jill is the author of several books on quilting; Home Sweet Quilt and Stitched Together. 
 
Jill is a Master Designer for Aurifil Threads and is also a BERNINA Ambassador. Her designs have been featured in several magazines including American Patchwork and Quilting, Quilter’s Home and McCall’s Quilting. She stays busy traveling and teaching about her quilt designs and applique methods. Jill designs fabric with Riley Blake designs. Creating fabric collections for quilting has been one of Jill’s favorite projects. 
 
Jill loves to spend time with her family, eating, reading, gardening, sewing, cooking, and learning. She and her husband Randy live in Alpine, Utah and are the parents of seven children and fourteen grandchildren. 

 

2021 Local Featured Quilter  

Judy Benzel 


Judy has been sewing most of her life and continues to create with fiber.  A Home Ec college grad, she has branched out to computer sciences in her vocation, but her avocation still remains sewing and quilting.   An accomplished quilter and seamstress, she never ceases to amaze with her creative products.   One of Judy's specialties is putting together the Demonstrations and schedules at the Festival. 

 

The festival committee is excited to finally get the quilt show back after our year off and we hope to see all of you at the show.  We're excited to see all the quilts and meet Jill, but more importantly we’re excited to see you.
