Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival Newsletter
June 2021
Greetings!
I hope you are all enjoying the comfortable sunshine and warmer spring days! I’ve loved the weather for outdoor walks and work in the garden!
The Walla Walla Valley Quilt Festival team members are busy planning and preparing for this years’ festival! I’d like to also say “Thank you” in advance, to our supporters from the Walla Walla Quilt Guild! These men and women are a great support, helping with the hanging of quilts, greeting attendees at the entrance doors, and most importantly helping with the takedown of quilts and safely returning them to the owner who shared their lovely quilts!

2021 National Featured Quilter Jill Finley
I hope that many of you have had opportunities to read and explore Jill’s websites. She has the most delightful personality and energy to teach and share tips and tricks to help us all become our best of selves’ quilters. She has a very successful method for appliqué. I’m curious to ask her, “How many lines of fabric have you designed?” I just know it is a lot, and they are always bright, fresh and cheerful!

Quilt Fabric and Pattern by Jill Finley
I’ll close with a tip shared by Eddie and Terri. They were sharing a “sew day” when I stopped for a brief visit and they showed me this amazing quilters tape for keeping a straight line while sewing. It is called, “Diagonal Seem Tape…Cluck, Cluck, Sew”! I was told Missouri Star carries it for online purchase.

The tape lays smooth and sticks firmly, yet is easy to replace as needed.
Keep well Friends!
