Displaying Quilts Guidelines

The Walla Walla Quilt Festival enjoys displaying all types and sizes of quilts in celebration of the art of quilting.

Quilts are divided into 2 categories, small quilts under 200” in perimeter and large quilts over 200” in perimeter. WWVQF may adjust what group a quilt is displayed in based on quilt registrations and hanging space available. Additionally, Quilts larger than 96”x96” may be folded to fit on display racks

Ribbons will be given for “People’s Choice” (favorite quilt in the show) and 1st , 2nd, and 3rd place in each category. Everyone attending the show Friday and Saturday, until 1 PM, will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite quilt. All Ribbons will be displayed Saturday after 2 PM.

  • Quilts must be at least three layers (top, batting, backing) and be quilted in some way to hold the layers together.
  • Register up to 3 quilts, not including challenge quilt or block challenge blocks
  • Items must have a CLOTH LABEL with a minimum of the quilter’s name, city, state and title of the entry and must be firmly attached to the back of the quilt (paper label is not acceptable).
  • Must be able to be hung from WWVQF display racks, no framed or specially prepared quilts can be accepted
