Hasn't been that long since you heard from me, But I want to share important info with you! (And maybe just share a tip or two!)
Reminder of DatesSeptember 1, 2018 - All Quilt Registrations must be in not later than midnight this date. So get them entered or filled out and submitted!
September 8 and 9, 2018 - Deliver your quilts between the hours of 10 am to 3 pm either of these days. We will be at the Floral Building, Walla Walla County Fairgrounds to accept your entries and give you a receipt which you MUST have to pick up your quilts on September 16, 2018
September 14, 15, and 16 - We will open the doors promptly at 10 am all three days. Friday and Saturday we will close at 5 pm, and Sunday, the 16th we will close the doors at 3 pm.
September 16, 2018 4:00 pm If you have your receipt you may pick up your quilt at the Community Building.
Come join us in the celebration of quilting. Treat yourself and your friends and neighbors to lots of color and creativity. You will be able to vote for your favorites, bid on silent auction quilts, shop with vendors, and take a break at the Quilter's Cafe hosted by West of the Blues. Visit with national featured quilter, Teresa Silva, and local featured quilter, Cathy Wiese.
Tips and Tricks:
*Difficulty threading your sewing machine needle? Moisten the eye of the needle rather than the thread.
*Washing small pieces of fabric? Try using your salad spinner to help reduce the fraying you get when using the wash machine. Start with hot water and soap, spin a few times, then drain. Fill with cook water, spin again to rinse, drain water and spin again to remove as much water as possible, then iron dry.
*To keep applique stems from shifting while hand stitching, pin over the stems rather than through.
