Block Challenge 2008
For those who would like a simpler challenge or don't have enough time to make an entire challenge quilt, we have an option: The Block Challenge! To enter, all you need do is design and make a quilt block that is 12 1/2" (so it will finish at 12"), using the challenge fabric. You may use any type of sewing you like, whether it's appliqué, piecing, embroidery, or any combination, but you must include a recognizable patch of the challenge fabric within your block.
The winner will be determined by a vote of those attending the Festival. If you win, you will receive all the blocks entered in the challenge--plenty to make one or two beautiful quilts. Plus, the committee may add a nice surprise or two to your package.
The fabric for this year's block challenge is a beautiful black on white music print. To get a fat 1/8th, send $1.00 plus a SASE to Pam Murray, PO Box 1996, Walla Walla WA 99362.
You must make sure your block arrives at Walla Walla Sew 'n Vac and Spa, 102 E. Main, Walla Walla, no later than Thursday, September 18th, 2008. If you wish to mail your block to us, the address is: PO Box 1471, Walla Walla, WA, 99362.
